50 Gentle Movements to Activate Your Body’s Natural Healing with Bowenwork
Bowenwork is a holistic treatment aimed at restoring the body’s natural balance through gentle movements over specific points. This approach is based on the philosophy of “less is more”: the therapist applies soft touches to key areas of the body, followed by brief pauses that allow the body to activate its recovery process.
Do you experience any of these symptoms?
While Bowenwork doesn’t target specific conditions, its holistic approach often brings relief to a wide range of complaints. From chronic pain to acute injuries, Bowenwork’s gentle technique can support the body’s natural ability to reset, repair, and regain balance, even in serious or sensitive cases.
Most people come to Bowenwork for musculoskeletal issues like frozen shoulder, back pain, or neck discomfort. Yet, its effects often go further. Many clients have experienced significant improvements with conditions like asthma, migraines, and digestive challenges such as irritable bowel.
The beauty of Bowenwork lies in its simplicity and breadth, it doesn’t force the body, it invites it to heal. Clients frequently report pain relief, restored function, and renewed energy. Each session is a chance to bring your body back to its natural state of balance
What is a session like?

Each Bowenwork session is designed to adapt to your individual needs, so we will follow a structured process to create a personalized treatment plan for you.
- Introduction and explanation: Dharam will introduce themselves and explain in detail how the therapy works and how it acts on your body: movements, pauses, conscious breathing…
- Evaluation form: After the explanation, you will complete a form so Dharam can better understand your case and personalize your treatment. We will ask you about:
- The symptoms you are experiencing
- The part of your body that is causing discomfort or that you want to treat
- The level of pain or discomfort you experience
- Whether you have tried other types of therapies
- Individual session: After your evaluation, we will begin your Bowenwork session, which lasts about 45 minutes. During the session, Dharam will apply gentle movements accompanied by strategic pauses so that the body can respond and begin its healing process. You will also be reminded of the importance of maintaining deep and conscious breathing throughout the treatment, which helps to maximize its benefits.
- Post-session recommendations: At the end of the individual session, the therapist will give you some key recommendations to maximize the benefits of the treatment, including:
- Simple recovery exercises to do at home
- The importance of staying hydrated after each session
- The importance of walking and resting to help the body in its recovery process
Bowenwork is designed to provide relief in a gentle and effective way, so every detail of the session is aimed at making you feel comfortable and allowing your body to begin its own healing process.
